A Day in the Life:
The Accrual Claims Lead reports to the Department Supervisor and is responsible for reviewing & recording Chain and/or Distributor promotional programs into SAP, managing open accrual balances, participating in month-end and quarter-end closing activities, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements and adherence to audit standards. This role will work closely with Chain and Distributor partners as well as our internal Sales teams to validate funding details and secure required approvals for accurate financial reporting.
The Impact You'll Make:
- Review Data Entry of Program Funding - Review promotional funding regularly to ensure accuracy, completeness of information, proper coding, and full compliance with audit standards, as well as ad hoc responsibilities
- Management of Promotional Accruals - Responsible for Chain/Distributor-related funding, with the responsibility for regularly communicating to Sales the request for updates, additions, and adjustments to the accruals based on estimated and actual promotional costs, while adhering to established financial close deadlines
- Work closely with internal and external partners to validate promotional accruals. This role requires strong customer service, along with clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Act as the subject matter expert for assigned Chain/Distributor accounts. While all employees receive foundational training, Leads hold specialized knowledge of promotions, account managers, chain/distributor-specific practices, and best approaches for managing their accounts, as well as ad hoc responsibilities.
- Ad hoc projects &/or various department support functions, as needed
Who You Are:
- Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in the field of Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Business Administration or other related field of study
- Between 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable
- Minimum 1 year of experience in SAP and/or SalesForce
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to Teams, Outlook, Sharepoint. Experience in SAP, SalesForce, PowerBI and/or VIP-PPM a plus.(Testing results required for alpha-numeric typing and Power-User Excel)
