Vice President, Strategy and Operations (TNF)

What will you do?

The Vice President, Strategy and Operations is a senior, brand-wide leader who shapes The North Face's strategic vision and translates it into coordinated business operations and disciplined go-to-market execution across the Global Brand.

Reporting to The North Face Global Brand President and partnering with the Global Leadership team, this role connects long-term strategy to the operating rhythms, decision forums, and cross-functional execution needed to deliver the brand agenda. This leader owns the global go-to-market calendar and stage-gate decision rights, strengthens cross-functional ways of working, and ensures strategic priorities move through the organization with clarity, speed, and accountability.

The VP acts as an internal consultant, operator, and integrator, ensuring that strategy, teams, decision-making, and execution milestones all move as one connected system in service of the entire TNF brand.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

Brand Strategy & Growth

  • Lead development of the brand's long-term strategic vision across all functions, and communicate, track, and measure progress against it.
  • Own the ongoing strategy cadence and leadership alignment forums; partner with brand executives to keep priorities clear, current, and actionable.
  • Serve as an internal consultant to business leaders, vetting strategic ideas with analytical, problem-solving, and strategic frameworks.
  • Identify whitespace and new growth vectors, new categories, new consumer segments, new markets, strategic partnerships, and emerging business opportunities, and build the strategic cases to bring them to life.
  • Partner with leaders to translate enterprise and brand priorities into focused initiatives, clear owners, measurable outcomes, and decision-ready recommendations.
  • Support the Brand President on strategic, brand, and corporate deliverables, including quarterly and annual reporting, investor relations, and Board of Directors materials.
  • Help TNF leaders transform their organizations, processes, and operating methods to better serve consumers in a consumer-minded, retail-centric, hyper-digital world.

Strategy Operations & Business Integration

  • Build and manage the operating rhythm for the Global Brand, including leadership routines, priority reviews, decision forums, and follow-through on enterprise-critical initiatives.
  • Connect strategic choices to operational execution by defining the workstreams, governance, milestones, and performance indicators required to deliver brand priorities.
  • Create consistent tools, templates, and reporting that improve transparency, decision quality, and accountability across global and regional teams.
  • Lead cross-functional problem solving on high-priority business opportunities and operational barriers, bringing structure, analysis, and clear options to senior leaders.
  • Partner with Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Sales, Product, and Supply Chain leaders to ensure strategic initiatives are commercially grounded, operationally feasible, and consumer-led.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify ways of working, remove duplicated effort, accelerate decisions, and improve handoffs across the global brand ecosystem.

Go-to-Market Execution

  • Establish and run the seasonal global operational calendar, defining stage-gates, decision rights, inputs, outputs, and executive touchpoints across the go-to-market process.
  • Drive the end-to-end go-to-market process across functions, ensuring teams deliver high-quality work at each milestone and that key decisions are made at the right level and time.
  • Build and manage consistent processes from briefing to execution, connecting teams so information flows to the right stakeholders at the right time.
  • Own the handoff of strategic and seasonal priorities to execution teams, briefing big ideas and key brand initiatives across Merchandising, Product, Marketing, Sales, Regions, and Supply Chain.
  • Ensure go-to-market work is grounded in brand strategy, consumer insights, commercial priorities, and operational readiness.
  • Define an ecosystem of tools and reporting that gives leaders visibility into go-to-market progress, risks, decisions, and results.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of professionals, selecting talent and building high-performing teams.
  • Connect department and individual expectations to the company vision, building consensus and driving results across distinct groups.
  • Provide influential leadership across all levels of the organization, from analysts to executives and external partners.
  • Model a collaborative, consumer-led, action-oriented approach that helps teams move from strategy to execution with clarity and confidence.
